How SU calculates APS

Stellenbosch uses the TPT, a percentage aggregate: your highest Language of Learning & Teaching mark (English or Afrikaans) plus your five best other 20-credit subjects, divided by 6.

  • TPT = [ highest LoLT mark (English or Afrikaans) + sum of your 5 best other 20-credit subjects ] / 6.
  • The result is a percentage, not a points score.
  • Excluded: Life Orientation, Advanced Programme Mathematics, Mathematics 3, and any non-NSC subject.
  • Programmes set their own minimum TPT plus subject requirements.
